Photographer, web designer and writer, Nick Gleitzman works from a century-old railway cottage overlooking the Hawkesbury River.
Twenty years of producing commercial photographs for some of Sydney’s best art directors and designers has resulted in an uncommon eye for detail, a distinctive sense of colour and style, and a passion for aesthetic and technical excellence.
Gleitzman’s interest in photography originally began with his early attempts to capture the unique beauty and character of the Australian landscape. That interest has grown into an enduring love affair which continues today.
He takes shooting trips into the remotest parts of the country (and the wilds of the urban jungle) whenever possible, although the new venture which is The River Gallery will take his attention – for a while, at least.

Hungarian-born Esther Beaton came to Australia as a child, grew up in Canada and the United States, and finally returned to settle in the country where she remembered “picnics under the gum trees and cockatoos in the backyard”.
She initially took up photography as part of a bird-watching hobby, but it soon led to a career as a government-employed wildlife photographer and later to commercial work. After ten years in Brooklyn, Esther has recently relocated to nearby Pearl Beach. She makes several trips a year into the Outback to bring back nature features and stock photos for her clients around the world.
Esther’s photographs of the River were produced for the Australian Geographic feature A River of People, published in the July 2003 issue. She was awarded Australian Geographic Photographer of the Year in 1997 for her feature Some Truths About Cane Toads.
Esther feels Australia’s landscape and wildlife have a truly unique beauty, and she has a passion to to share her exciting discoveries with as many people around the world as possible.

Che is first and foremost a painter – and a very good one. But he constantly uses a camera as well, and when he does, interesting things often happen. His unique eye results in moody, interpretive images, sometimes bearing little or no relation to the real world – but they’re always strikingly different.
Che has a strong affinity for rivers: he has lived and worked by rivers as geographically diverse as the Huon in Tasmania and, of course, the Hawkesbury.
